More award-winning Prosecco at the Co-op!

April 25, 2016 by The Co-operative Food

At the Co-op, we know what makes award-winning Prosecco. Following the success of our own-brand Italian fizz - Prosecco DOC Special Cuvée Brut – which took bronze in both the 2015 Decanter World Wine Awards and International Wine Challenge Awards, we’re delighted to announce that the exclusive Borgo Molino “22” Prosecco and Foscaro ‘Extra Dry’ Prosecco have both been awarded bronze medals (80 points +) in the Drinks Business Prosecco Masters.

Borgo Molino 22

Borgo Molino “22″

Exclusive to the Co-op, our new premium Borgo Molino 22 is made at one of the oldest wineries in the area. Borgo Molino was founded in 1922 by the Nardin family in north east Italy. Sergio Nardin and his sons Pietro and Paolo run the winery – while Pietro is responsible for the business side of the company, Paolo looks after the technical aspects to create this vintage Prosecco. This wine is the product of one year in the vineyards and is aimed at the premium Prosecco sector. It comes in a beautiful gift box and is available at selected stores.

Foscaro ‘Extra Dry’

The Foscaro is a collaboration between 9 cooperative wineries – the growers got together in 1968 to combine their vine-growing knowledge and wine-making expertise. Foscaro ‘Extra Dry’, ever confusing from a labelling perspective (those Italians!), is a slightly less dry Prosecco. It is a soft and fruity Prosecco in a slightly sweeter style, perfect for summer sipping or even with a fruity dessert. This is new and exclusive to the Co-op.
